Alumni Spotlight - Suzie Doscher

Updated: Feb 8

What makes education special is community. Alumni form the backbone of any education programme. We have had so many wonderful people pass through our programmes. We got a chance to sit down and have a chat with one of our alumni, Suzie Doscher living in Zurich.

Noble Manhattan Switzerland: What inspired you to pursue coaching, and why did you choose Noble Manhattan?

Suzie: In 2004 when coaching was relatively new in England ( I was living in England) and told I should consider becoming a coach. I looked into it but did not follow through. One year later I saw various Introductions to Coaching events in London. I went to many and loved the concept of coaching. I decided to pursue it. I chose Noble Manhattan because I really liked the information and the energy, not only in the room but also from Gerard O’Donovan. I will never regret my choice.

Noble Manhattan Switzerland: Which Noble Manhattan Coaching programme did you do?

Suzie: Practitioner Coach Diploma - PCD in 2006

Noble Manhattan Switzerland: Can you describe your experience during the training? What part was the most valuable for you?

Suzie: I had never done any distance learning but thought the material from Noble Manhattan was very clear and helpful. All interactions I had with the team, the in-person sessions during the training were insightful, valuable, challenging and very helpful. I really liked that I had to look carefully into my own personal growth and development. This was invaluable not only for my life but also vis a via clients. I knew a. how hard it can be and b. that it is possible with the right motivation based on my own experience.

Noble Manhattan Switzerland: How has the program impacted your career and personal life?

Suzie: My personal life has benefited, and still does, because I know what questions to ask myself when stuck. I know that unless I take responsibility for any changes, my behaviour will not change. I added a certification course in New York with Laura Berman Fortgang and found that adding Neuroscience in Coaching with Leading Brains was, and still is, helpful along with the Practitioner Coach Diploma.

Noble Manhattan Switzerland: Can you share a success story or a proud moment from your coaching journey?

Suzie: It is hard to choose a proud moment as I feel the entire journey is rewarding. I look at my clients as human beings regardless of what job they hold. I like that my clients return sometimes months/years later if they want a trusted neutral outsider to support them with whatever is going on.

Noble Manhattan Switzerland: What advice would you give to someone considering Noble Manhattan Coaching?

Suzie: I would suggest the person carefully considers what they are looking to achieve. I believe anyone who is interested in coaching is in very good hands with the courses on offer by Noble Manhattan.

Noble Manhattan Switzerland: What’s a quote or mantra that guides your coaching practice?

Suzie: “You cannot change people, but you can change how you react”
